It is summer time, which means lots of fresh, seasonal vegetables, fruits, and beautiful flowers! During these hot summer months, some of your plants will flourish, and others will struggle; but with some tender loving care, all should survive.
Key Tips for Summer Gardening
- Make sure there is an adequate amount of water in the root zone area, but do not waste water.
- Use plenty of mulch in the soil when you plant to stabilize the soil temperature and help retain moisture
- Water early in the morning to reduce water losses to evaporation
- Summer plants grow rapidly so fertilize regularly
